Next Meeting February 3rd

We have all taken the bold step of diving into a discussion of joy together.  It is bold because often times thinking on joy can bring about pain or deep self-inquiry that feels hard to deal with.  It is easy to start focusing on the “lack” of joy in our lives.  That is normal.  But take heart and stay focused.  All the joy available to you is still right there, waiting for you to receive it.  Be gentle with yourself if you feel like you’ve wandered off-track.  Pat yourself on the back for noticing, and do something that supports you in your joy journey.  Need an idea as to what this might be?

This coming meeting we are going to take a breather- literally.  We are delighted to say that local yoga instructor Jen Breen will be joining us to provide a morning of gentle, relaxing, yoga practice.  So, if you like, bring your yoga mat.  Some will be provided as well.  Not into yoga?  Fine!  There will also be a wonderful non-yoga option available.  Bev Gaines will be leading a meditation.  She will provide simple instruction for a meditation technique that you can practice at home.  Whether you choose to enjoy yoga or meditation, either practice can help to cultivate a place of inner stillness and peace.  Within that sacred space, joy can arise in many forms- gratitude, letting go, compassion, self-acceptance…  It is different for everyone, and different each time.  Come, get inspired.  In the meantime, remember to ask yourself, “What brought me joy today?”

What Are You Doing With Your One Wild and Precious Life?

He who binds to himself a joy
Does the winged life destroy;
But he who kisses the joy as it flies,
Lives in eternities sunrise.
