Next Meeting March 17th

Our last meeting was so wonderful.  People came together with much to say and share.  The presence of each one of us is important.  Thank you everyone for continuing to show-up and make this group the safe and dynamic experience that it is.

In fact, there was enough momentum to the discussion, that we are switching this next meeting from an activity day to a discussion day, in order to let us follow-through with our thoughts.  We will still have the activity day later in the schedule, and it will be designed to build on the practices we have learned, and to help us integrate them into our lives.

Bev Gaines will be speaking about “Opening Our Heart”.  We have been exploring the last few meetings around what blocks joy.  One practice that helps us open to joy is to open our hearts.  Hmmm.  “Is my heart open or closed?  How do I know or sense the difference?”  How do we open our hearts to ourselves, to who we are in this moment?  What might get in the way, or what blocks us from loving and accepting ourselves?  Ladies, it is no secret that we can be pretty hard on ourselves.  We can change this.  We’re also going to begin talking about self-forgiveness and self-love.

HOSTING

This next meeting, the Blue Group will do set-up, clean-up, and provide food.  One of your group members will contact you soon via email with details.  Set-up starts at 8:45.

CHILDREN’S PROGRAM

Our March 17th meeting will be a fun one for the kids in the Children’s Program!  The special topics will be the weather and the “green holiday”- St. Patrick’s Day.

A Special Announcement:  Mom’s Retreat Sunday

It’s hard for us to believe that Mom’s Morning Retreat in only four months old.  Many members of Grace Church have heard good things about our Thursdays.  They’ll hear more this Sunday, March 20, following the 9:30 AM church service.  Our group will be featured during the announcements and coffee hour.

This is our chance to say “thanks” for the church’s support and to describe what we do.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful for the podium to be surrounded by moms and their kids?  We’re a good-looking bunch, and your smile will say quite a lot.

If you’ve been curious about Grace, this is a nice opportunity.  Your children are welcome to sit with you during the service, or you may take them to the nursery or “Godly Play” which is overseen by – you guessed it – Debbie Rimkus.

If you would prefer to come just for announcement time and coffee hour, please arrive at about 10:30 and wait in the narthex (lobby).  We’ll come get you as the service wraps up.

What Are You Doing With Your One Wild and Precious Life?

“It is not easy to find happiness in ourselves,
and it is not possible to find it elsewhere.” -Agnes Repplier

Reality is what we take to be true.
What we take to be true is what we believe.
What we believe is based upon our perceptions.
What we perceive depends on what we look for.
What we look for depends upon what we think.
What we think depends upon what we perceive.
What we perceive determines what we believe.
What we believe determines what we take to be true.
What we take to be true is our reality.
