This week we’ll explore the idea of being compassionate with (and maybe even loving!) ourselves. Tying in with our last discussion on forgiveness, we’ll consider the importance of growing in self-love and the blocks that may exist on that path. One culprit is perfectionism or at least judgment that we should always be doing it better or differently. Or, even that we should have it all together by now! We will look at and wonder what fears fuel that judging mind and how that keeps us from accepting and loving who we really are.
Candlelight Labyrinth Walk Monday, Dec. 19th
Just a reminder that all members, spouses and friends are invited to join us Monday, Dec. 19th, 7-8pm, for a labyrinth walk at Grace Church. A labyrinth is an ancient symbol of spiritual journey and has been a useful meditative tool for many cultures. We’ll start the evening inside with hot cocoa and a discussion about the use of a labyrinth, and then venture outside with candles. As mentioned before, child care will not be provided during this event. Please dress appropriately as we’re planning on this event rain or (moon)shine!
Thursday Morning Parking
Just a head’s up: Grace Church’s neighbor, the Island School, will be having an event this Thursday morning with overflow parking coming to Grace Church. As the school’s event ends (near our meeting start time), there may be extra activity in the driveway and parking lot, so we appreciate you observing the 5 mph speed limit and driving with extra caution.
We realize the holiday season is a busy, bustling time for everyone. We hope that you can make space during this next week to give a gift to yourself by attending the meeting and labyrinth walk! See you then!
