This week we will be looking at our primary relationship and exploring a great paradox: how to give ourselves to a loving relationship while remaining true to ourselves, balancing “we” and “me.” In addition, we’ll talk about what consciously and unconsciously draws us to our partner and how this awareness can help us navigate life’s rough spots.
Weather-Related Meeting Cancellation Policy
Depending on the weather forecaster, we are expecting anywhere from 1″ to a bazillion inches between now and Thursday. At this moment, they are predicting it to warm up afterwards so that snow shouldn’t be an issue, but we wanted you to know our cancellation policy (just in case Mother Nature has more up her sleeve). If Bainbridge Island School District cancels school or delays the start time, we will not have a meeting that day.
We want to thank Cheryl Gibson for coordinating our Activities this fall. The Enneagram class and the blanket-making activity were both so fun and rewarding. Cheryl is stepping away from the steering committee, and we will miss her! We are so fortunate to welcome Michelle Anderson, who is taking over for Cheryl. Thank you, Michelle, for helping with Activities this spring!
We also want to give a big “thanks!” to all who brought or are bringing meals to Kelli and her family. They are thrilled for the support!
We’re just about halfway though our year, and it’s time to collect spring tuition. If you opted to pay for the year in two installments, your spring tuition of $65 is now due. You can give your payment to Kristin LaCroix or place it in the box on the Welcome Table. Checks should be made payable to “Grace Church.” Thanks for taking care of this in a timely way. Questions? You can contact Kristin at firstname.lastname@example.org.
New Book Discussion Group
Interested in a smaller group discussion setting? In February, Bev will start a new 16-week, spiritual growth group to study Martha Beck’s new book, “Finding Your Way in a Wild New World: Reclaim Your True Nature to Create the Life You Want.” The group will meet at the Soul Wisdom offices (945 Hildebrand Lane), Tuesdays, 12:30-2:00pm, beginning February 8th. The fee will be $10 per class. These classes are open to the public, so please feel free to forward this information to anyone who may be interested.
From a pre-release review: “Martha Beck guides you to find out how you got to where you are now and what you should do next with clear, concrete instructions on tapping into the deep, wordless knowledge you carry in your body and soul.”
“For one human being to love another: that is perhaps the most difficult task of all….the work for which all other work is but preparation.” ~ Rainer Maria Rilke
