Mom’s Morning Retreat – First 2012-13 Meeting, Thurs., Sept. 20th!

Did you hear? Mom’s Morning Retreat is starting a new year!

Our first meeting will take place Thursday, September 20th, 9:30-11am, at Grace Church on Bainbridge Island. We’re excited to see returning members and new faces, and we hope everyone is ready to dive into our theme, “Mindfulness: Living with Intention in Chaos and Calm.”

Sounds great, right? By the way, did you receive our Evite Invitation? We’re trying something new this year (hello, 21st century!), so if you can r.s.v.p. to give us a head’s up that you’re coming, we’d love it. Please also feel free to share it with anyone you may know who might appreciate our group.

Registration

Registration (for new and returning members) can be accomplished a few ways: fill out the online form, print out a Registration Form 2012 and Children’s Program Registration Form 2012 to fill out at home and bring with you, or just don’t plan ahead whatsoever and come to the meeting, where we’ll provide forms. Whichever way you choose, checks should be made out to “Grace Church.”

Resources

A lot of Bev’s talks this year are inspired by the book 10 Mindful Minutes: Giving Our Children–and Ourselves–the Social and Emotional Skills to Reduce Stress and Anxiety for Healthier, Happy Lives by Goldie Hawn (yes, that Goldie Hawn). While it’s certainly not required reading, you may want to check it out and see if it speaks to you. We’ll try to post online the other books Bev draws from as the year progresses.

And, please always feel free to ask about books or other referenced materials if we don’t have that information posted somewhere.
