Can you see the holiness in those things you take for granted–a paved road or a washing machine? If you concentrate on finding what is good in every situation, you will discover that your life will suddenly be filled with gratitude, a feeling that nurtures the soul.— Rabbi Harold Kushner
Gratitude and Generosity
Join us this Thursday, December 20 at Mom’s Morning Retreat as we begin to wonder about living from a deeper awareness of Gratitude and Generosity. We will look at what helps us and what blocks us from cultivating a GreatFull heart. We can tell ourselves to be grateful and thankful but this only layers on “shoulds” – and can create guilt and shame. How can Gratitude become a root attitude from which we live our lives?
The Labyrinth Walk a Success
Last week some of us gathered and walked the labyrinth at Grace in the crisp, calm evening. A special thanks to Jenny Lange and Bev Gaines for making this lovely, candle-lit time for reflection happen, and to those who provided cookies. Walking the labyrinth is an age-0ld practice that shows up in many traditions.
Blanket Mission Accomplished
Kendra has delivered the blankets! Thank you to all who made them, and special thanks to Shawna Paulson for pulling everything together for the project. They are ready and waiting to provide a little comfort for small people coming into foster care in Kitsap County.
We will not meet on January 3, but look forward to reconnecting January 17, as we continue to look at ways to live more mindfully in chaos and calm.
May your days be joyful and bright!
