This Week’s Meeting: Anxiety & Stress, Thursday 9:30 a.m.

Do you suffer from anxiety and stress? Replay events, conversations or thoughts wishing you had said or done something differently? Dwell on the past or worry about the future? You are not alone!

Mindfulness offers us a way to shift out of anxiety. We can become aware of the nature of our experiences, and move away from unhealthy, self-deprecating stress reactions. We can cultivate positive attitudes and an unfolding sense of acceptance when we meet our thoughts with non-judgmental awareness.

Bev will share some noteworthy new brain research as we explore anxiety and stress through the lens of neuroscience and psychology.  We’ll open up group discussion around mindfulness as an amazing tool that can actually help us rewire the brain.

Join us this Thursday, at 9:30! Childcare is available from 9:15 and gives you time for your child to settle in and for you to have a few minutes to get a cup of coffee and something to eat as we gather.

Changes at Grace: Children’s Program Coordinator Position Available

It’s no secret that the Children’s Program is at the heart of Mom’s Morning Retreat. Grace staffer Debbie Rimkus, who has helped us orchestrate the children’s programming in such a caring way, will be moving into her new front desk position at the end of May.

Grace is accepting applications for Children’s and Family Ministry Coordinator.  This 18 hour per week position will commence August 1, 2013 and oversees programming for children and families, including nursery and Godly Play programs on Sundays.

A detailed job description is available in the Employment section of the Grace website (www.gracehere.org).  Note:  volunteering in your children’s classrooms is a form of teaching experience.  Applications will be accepted until May 1.  Spread the word!

Interested in Joining Mom’s Morning Retreat Steering Committee?

Steering Committee is a fantastic way to get to know other moms better and have a hand in the planning and operation of Mom’s Morning Retreat. We will have several positions opening up this spring as we dig into the exciting work of planning for next fall, and we’d love to hear from you if you would like more information about being a part of this terrific group. Inquire with Bev, or any other current Steering Committee member for more information.

Enjoy the sun and see you Thursday!
