Exploring Courageous Living

This year, we are so looking forward to creating courageous space in which we can learn, share, reflect and grow. Mom’s Morning Retreat will start our new year on Thursday, September 20th, at 9:30am. As always, we will meet at Grace Episcopal Church on Day Road, on Bainbridge Island. Childcare is available on-site to allow the moms, grandmothers, aunts, and all who join us to feel confident in the care of our children while we nourish our spirits over coffee and a breakfast treat.

It’s excited, and scary, to dive into courage this year. Brene Brown speaks a lot about courage, including saying, “Courage starts with showing up and letting ourselves be seen.” We will of course consider courage from the standpoint of taking risks, of challenging ourselves to do as we have not done before. More importantly, however, we will encourage vulnerability – allowing ourselves to share, to be seen, and providing the presence to those around us who dare to be who they truly are. We are each imperfect and deserve to be loved and cherished. We all need things and to live a courageous life, we must be able to ask for what we need.

Please join us. For our returning members, we so look forward to welcoming each and every one of you. For new moms, we want you to give us a try and see if you find Mom’s Morning Retreat to be a place that you feel welcome to connect to your heart and with others, as well as replenish the emotional, spiritual and mental stores that get so depleted as moms. Your first meeting is always free; if you choose to join us, you will be asked to register and pay as you can toward the costs associated with our program.
