Welcome to the Spark Joy Club, brought to you by Steering Team Activities Angels, Emily Mockett and Julie Middleton! In living our mission to explore increasing courage and resilience this year, each month we will be offering a different meaningful small group activity, sometimes hosted by the Steering Team, sometimes hosted by a member. Some will be activities just for us, some will be activities already taking place that we will attend and enjoy together. Each will be designed as a vehicle to drop into universal joy.
Magic can happen outside of your comfort zone, so…..
Try something new,
Make a new friend,
Deepen a connection,
Be present to the life you live,
Offer to others something that sparks courage for you,
Build your community,
Nurture your joy!!
Please join us!
Check back here to see finalized options for each upcoming month, child friendliness (some will be just for moms), and to RSVP for the activity (will be managed via our private Facebook group MMR Sharing & Connecting, for current members only).
Some ideas of activities to come?
-kayaking/SUPing -Christmas Caroling
-children’s costume walk -Stone Soup simmering
-wine tasting -dancing
-comedy improv -art walk
-conversations and coffee
Dates and times will vary depending on the activity, so hopefully all will have the chance to participate at some point.
OUR FIRST SPARK JOY ACTIVITY
PAST SPARK JOY ACTIVITIES
In October, for our first Spark Joy Club event, we did a Cross Island Hike! From Fairy Glen to Manitou Beach. We had so much fun and the weather was perfect! Thank you Emily.
For November, we Sparked Joy with local seniors. A small costume parade at the B.I. Senior Center, while seniors were there meeting over coffee, getting caught up on their email and visiting with one another. Such fun to spread the joy!
Tis the season in December, and our Spark Joy Club took to the Madrona House to carol with our wee ones included. Such terrific participation and so much joy was spread. Thank you for coming out!
January brought us together for Stone Soup. Together, we made soup while the kiddos played in our daycare. We made up huge quantities of two soups and breads. It was a lovely community of many hearts, many hands and delicious time together. We have soup prepared to share with any of our tribe members and their families when they are in need of a prepared meal. Thank you for the wonderful time together in the warmth of the kitchen.
In March, we celebrated with a Mom’s Night Out. A Happy Hour at a private home and then off to Bainbridge Performing Arts for the Improv Show! What a great night of fun and laughs!
April has us painting together using the acrylic pouring method. What fun it was to mix up our paints and pour them onto the canvas. Such beauty and freedom seeing that no talent was needed, just an eye for colors to put together and a hand to pour them out of the cups and onto the canvas. Let’s do more art together!
At the end of May, we explored movement via dance and expression with our muscles. We experienced joy and freedom with music and direction. It was a wonderful time exploring movement and connection.
